FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas wide receiver Joe Adams was named the Southeastern Conference freshman of the week by the conference office on Monday for his performance in last Saturday’s 28-27 win over Louisiana-Monroe.

Adams earned his first collegiate start in his hometown and responded by leading the Razorbacks with seven catches for 89 yards. He became the first Razorback since Marcus Monk (8 vs. Tennessee) in 2006 to record seven receptions in a game.

Adams tallied catches of 4, 7, 8, 10, 10, 17 and 33 yards against the Warhawks. Two of his catches came during Arkansas’ fourth-quarter comeback. He also netted a pair of first downs on receptions. Adams also recorded one rush for nine yards in the victory.

Adams has 10 catches for 121 yards and one touchdown in his first two games as a Razorback.
