FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The ninth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team returns to the links this week taking part in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Del Mar, Puerto Rico, Monday-Wednesday.

Arkansas, who has been off from collegiate competition since last fall, open with a challenging field on a course they are familiar with. The Razorbacks are making their ninth appearance and have three wins including a victory in last year’s 16-team field.

Junior Alana Uriell returns to action after winning her first collegiate event and the final fall event in Texas in November. She is joined by sophomores Kaylee Benton, Cara Gorli and Maria Fassi and junior Jordy LaBarbera. Senior Summar Roachell will compete as an individual.

The Lady Puerto Rico Classic is the first of five regular season events for the Razorbacks. Arkansas holds the tournament record shooting a seven-under 281, set last season, and the second-best mark with a 283 in 2014. Former Razorback Stacy Lewis holds the tournament record for the best round with an eight-under 20 set in 2008. That mark ties current Razorback Maria Fassi’s score from a year ago when the first-year player won her first collegiate event.
