#13Days13Razorbacks, Day 1: Breana Jones

#13Days13Razorbacks, Day 1: Breana Jones
Day 1 (Tuesday, May 20): Sophomore MB Breana Jones
This is the first feature in a series titled #13Days13Razorbacks in which one volleyball student-athlete per day will be highlighted during the team’s two-week European tour (May 20-June 1). Visit the #EuroHogs central page for continued coverage of Arkansas’ four-country stay which includes stops in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
Q: We got an early start on travel (Tuesday morning), what’s your plan for this eight-hour flight from New York to Italy? Jones: Basically, I plan on buying wi-fi on the plane and using it the whole time. I’ll probably watch some movies, too. I slept the all the way (to Dallas) on the bus and will probably sleep on the first flight (from DFW to New York).
Q: Is this your first trip out of the country? If not, where have you been? If so, what’s the farthest you’ve been away from your hometown of Peachtree City, Ga.? Jones: I’ve been to Mexico which is the farthest I’ve ever been from home but I don’t think that counts so yes, this is my first time really being out of the country.
Q: What foreign language did you take in high school and will it help you at all over the next two weeks? Jones: I took Spanish and no. That probably won’t help me at all this trip.
Q: What are you looking forward to the most about this trip? Jones: I’m most looking forward to interacting with the different cultures while we’re in Europe and trying to learn the different languages.
Q: You were part of Team Czech Republic for country presentations to your teammates, what’s the most interesting thing you learned about that country while doing research? Jones: Food. It’s a lot different than what I’m used to and from what I normally eat. A lot of the meals there are pork based and they use sauerkraut which I’ve never had. People tell me I would like it but I don’t know. We’ll see.
Q: You just completed your freshman year at Arkansas, what was one of the biggest things you learned? Jones: You really have to be confident about what you’re doing, own it and don’t doubt yourself. You have to know that whatever is going on in life, you’ll get through it.
Q: Tomorrow’s #13Days13Razorbacks feature is on Danielle Harbin, what should one of my questions be for her? Jones: You should ask her about books because she is a BOOKWORM! She reads all the time…yep, she’s over there reading right now.
