17 soccer players make the grade in spring semester

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas Lady Razorback soccer team placed 17 of its athletes on the Women’s Athletics Honor Rolls for the spring semester led by a quartet of 4.0 grades by Jackie Booker, Devon Burger, Sarah Finn and Allison Harris.

As a team the Lady Razorbacks posted a cumulative 3.47 grade point average (GPA), well above the department average of 3.18 and the third highest in Lady Razorback soccer history since the fall of 2000. In fact, the soccer team was so successful that it put 90 percent of its team on one of the three honor rolls.

“I am very proud of our team,” Arkansas head coach Gordon Henderson said. “They continue to prove their excellence both on the field and in the classroom. Their spring grades rival those of anyone in the country and that is something that everyone at the University of Arkansas can be proud of.”

For Harris, her semester of 4.0 grades is no real shock considering that she has never posted anything less in four full years of school. Harris returns to school in the fall seeking a ninth straight semester of 4.0 grades while she earns her degree in psychology. D. Burger posted her fourth perfect semester in biology with Booker (just a freshman) recording her second in kinesiology and Finn nabbing her first in business.

Just missing out on a perfect semester were five Lady Razorbacks who fell into the Athletic Director’s list with GPAs between 3.50 and 3.99. That list includes senior Christina Burger (marketing), junior Sarah Gwisdala (marketing), sophomore Abbey Wilburn (accounting) and freshmen Kat Moffett (journalism) and Kathleen Paulsen (liberal arts).

Joining their teammates on one of the three teams with GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49 were Whitney Allison (political science), Megan Fawley (elementary education), Katie Hamilton (marketing), Alison Harter (apparel studies), Kylee Mesler (kinesiology), Lindsey Patterson (kinesiology), Rachel Smith (business) and Sophie Wentz (communication disorders).
