2005-06 Tennis Schedule Features 15 Home Matches

Hog fans will have plenty of opportunities to see the Razorback tennis team in action this year as they host 15 matches during the 2005-06 campaign. Six Southeastern Conference matchups are slated for the spring and several challenging non-conference opponents will also be making the trip to Fayetteville, including long-time rival Texas, Ohio State, Tulsa and Oklahoma State. The league matches have Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, Ole Miss and LSU coming to face UA.

“We’re really looking forward to this year’s schedule,” Arkansas head coach Robert Cox said. “I’m excited about these guys being seniors and we have a good mix of freshmen and returners. It sets up perfectly to have 15 home matches and a tough schedule, not only with the SEC opponents, but Ohio State, Texas, Tulsa and Oklahoma State are coming in. Going into the season I’m very confident. It’s exciting for the program and for the fans who come to see us.”

Arkansas will be on the road during the entire fall and will kick off the fall campaign in Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Tournament on Sept. 16-18. The ITA National Indoor Tournament will conclude the season on Nov. 3-6 in Columbus, Ohio.

The spring season starts with a non-conference match against Scotland’s Sterling University on Jan. 16 and the first SEC match will be against Georgia on March 3. Alabama will play host to the SEC Championships and the NCAA Championships will take place in Palo Alto, Calif., on Stanford’s campus.
