He was a member of The Associated Press Arkansas Super Team and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas squad as a linebacker for Central Arkansas Christian. The three-year starter played in only eight games as a senior due to an injury but still managed to rack up 103 tackles, including 69 unassisted stops, eight sacks and two forced fumbles. As a junior, he caught 51 passes for 688 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed 19 times for 82 yards and racked up 132 tackles for Coach Tim Perry. His team captured the state championship in his sophomore campaign with Williams netting 80 tackles, eight tackles for loss, seven sacks and one recovered fumble on defense. Rivals.com ranked him as the No. 9 tight end in the nation and as a four-star prospect. The outlet also ranked him as the No. 4 prospect in Arkansas and named him a member of the HawgSports.com Natural 21 at No. 3. He was also a member of the Rivals250 squad. Scout.com named him as a four-star prospect the No. 14 tight end in the country. He was also tabbed as the No. 4 overall player in Arkansas by Scout.com and Hawgs Illustrated. He chose Arkansas over Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. His first name is David. He is the son of Vicky Williams.
