2011 Razorback volleyball camps

FAYETTEVILLE – Be part of the 2011 University of Arkansas volleyball summer camps as head coach Robert Pulliza and his staff host their third camp season in Fayetteville. Divided among a variety of specialty camps, the Razorback volleyball camps are designed to help players and teams improve and prepare for their respective upcoming seasons.

The summer seasons begins July 5-7 with the Lil’ Backs Camp, a three-day camp for younger players from 4th to 7th grade. This commuter camp is designed for campers to learn the basics of the game of volleyball. Sessions will run from 9-11:30 a.m. each day.

The All-Skills Camp will be held July 8-10 for players from 8th to 12th grade. This three-day camp is for players looking to specialize and develop their individual skills. Campers will be challenged in all aspects of the game by focusing on all fundamentals of forearm passing, serving, setting, blocking, attacking and playing defense. To ensure a competitive atmosphere, players will be grouped with others of similar skill level and age range.

The Razorbacks will also host a one-day Position Camp, scheduled for July 14. This camp will give individuals the training at their specific position, whether they specialize at middle blocking, outside hitting, setter or libero and defensive specialist. The day-long session will be split into three workouts (9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; 2-4:30 p.m.; 5:30-7:30 p.m.).

The final set of dates for the summer camp schedule will focus on Team Camp. There will be three separate team sessions. The first session, set for July 11-13, is open to JV and Varsity teams. The second session, held July 15-17, is for Varsity teams only. The final session, a one-day camp scheduled for July 19, is available for Junior High teams. These camps will give teams the opportunity to train and prepare together for the upcoming season while developing chemistry on the court. After the scrimmage and "team" practice schedule, the camps will end with a tournament. Each team must be accompanied by a coach and have a minimum of nine players.

All 2011 Razorback volleyball camps will be held at Barnhill Arena on the University of Arkansas campus. For questions or more details, contact camp director Jenny Kirk or visit the Razorback camp home page at ArkansasVolleyballCamps.com.
