FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2014-15 University of Arkansas women’s basketball season is still a long ways off but it is never too early to start talkin’ hoops.
Each Monday, we are going to profile one of the teams who are expected to be on the Razorbacks’ schedule this year. First-year head coach Jimmy Dykes and his staff have worked hard to create a competitive non-conference schedule that will excited fans and prepare the Razorbacks for the always-grueling test that the Southeastern Conference will bring after the holidays.

Remember, this is not meant to be the complete schedule and that the teams mentioned in these stories are subject to change as are the suggested play dates. GAME THREE Of 2014-15
The season will continue in November when @RazorbackWBB hosts Middle Tennessee State. The Razorbacks are a perfect 3-0 against the Raiders in program history. The first meeting came in 1983 when Arkansas eeked out a one-point, 73-72, win over MTSU.
The next two meetings were back-to-back in 2010 and 2011 with Arkansas winning both meetings. The first of those games was a 20+ point win for Arkansas but the most recent game was a close contest in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Arkansas had to come from behind to get the victory.
The Razorbacks and Jimmy Dykes face the Blud Raider for the first time in program history.
So what do we know about the Blue Raiders?
* Located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
* Founded in 1911
* Enrollment is 25,395
* Colors are royal blue adn white
* They are an NCAA Division I member in Conference USA
* The Blue Raiders’ head coach is Rick Insell in his 10th year
* They were 29-5 overall and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 17th time last year
* They graduated four seniors from a year ago
Middle Tennessee has two seniors on this year’s roster in Shanice Cason and Cheyenne Parker. Olivia Jones is the team’s leading returning scoring averaging 8.4 points per game last year. Cason was fourth on the team with 7.7 ppg and is the second returning leading scorer for the Blue Raiders. They return three starters from a year ago but graduated their top two leading scorers.
