3 ProHogs To Watch Week 2 Of NFL Preseason
FAYETTEVILLE – The second week of preseason action provides the opportunity to prove consistency for players looking to make the 53-man roster.
Below are three ProHogs looking to show that this weekend:
Earning His Spot
In a core of receivers that is as deep as any in the league, wide receiver Cobi Hamilton proved his worth in week one. Against the Giants, Hamilton graded out as the best receiver in the AFC North, according to Pro Football Focus. He had two receptions for 72 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown pass from rookie Josh Dobbs. Read more about Hamilton here.
Allen Looking To Make His Case
The second year quarterback looked good in his first performance against New England in week one. Allen went 5-for-7 for 85 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown pass. Despite currently being listed as the third-team quarterback, Allen can make a run at the back-up position if his outings continue to be as impressive as week one.
Williams Using Rookie Year As Motivation
As good as his former teammate was in the first week of preseason action, Williams looked just as impressive, rushing for 39 yards on four carries, a 9.8 yard per rush average. Williams came into camp trying to make a case as the number two back behind LeSean McCoy. He will get the chance to continue making his claim Thursday night against Philadelphia.
