43 Razorbacks Named to the SEC Spring Honor Roll

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. A total of 861 student-athletes, including 43 Arkansas Razorbacks, were named to the 2007 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced Wednesday by Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive.

The Diamond Hogs led Arkansas with 22 players on the list. The Track Hogs were second with 11 honorees. Razorback golf and tennis each notched five student-athletes to the list.

The University of South Carolina topped the list with 104 student-athletes on the spring academic roster. The University of Florida was next with 86 honorees. The University of Georgia was close behind with 80 spring student-athletes honored.

Each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letter winner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
