ATHENS, Ga. — The fourth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team played to a runner-up finish at the 42nd Annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga., Sunday. The Razorbacks fell, 3-and-2 to top-ranked Southern California in the final match on Sunday. Sophomore Regina Plasencia picked up a win over Victoria Morgan, 3-up, and senior Emily Tubert won her match over Doris Chen 4-up for the Razorbacks. Tubert, a Burbank, Calif., native, finished the three-day, four-round event in a tie for third place overall. Teammate Gabriela Lopez was also tied for third with both players 2-under for the tournament. Plasencia was ninth overall playing four-over followed by senior Emma Lavy who was 37th overall at 13-over. Freshman Summar Roachell rounds out the Arkansas scores. Roachell was 53rd and 18-over for four rounds. The Razorbacks return to the links April 18-20, at the SEC Championship in Birmingham, Ala., as the postseason starts.
