FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sixty-six University of Arkansas student-athletes earned selection to the 2009 Southeastern Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll the league office announced today. The Razorback softball team led all selections with 16 student-athletes honored this semester. There were 14 selections from both men’s and women’s track and field and 10 from baseball. All four teams advanced to their respective NCAA Tournaments as well with baseball tying for third in the most recent championship. Women’s golf had five selections followed by men’s golf and women’s tennis with four each and men’s tennis added three for the semester. “Congratulations to these special Razorbacks who have earned selection to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll,” Arkansas Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. “Their commitment to academic achievement and athletic success embodies the core principles of being a student-athlete. Through their hard work and dedication, these young men and women have represented our program and the University of Arkansas with distinction.” The Razorback women’s golf team tied for ninth at the 2009 NCAA West Regional while the men’s team finished as the 2009 NCAA Tournament runner-up this year.
