BASEBALL:

The Arkansas baseball team led the country with 11 players selected in the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. The 11 selections were also a school record for Razorbacks selected in one draft. Ryne Stanek (1st round, Tampa Bay Rays), Colby Suggs (2nd round, Miami Marlins), Barrett Astin (3rd round, Milwaukee Brewers), Dominic Ficociello (12th round, Detroit Tigers), Trent Daniel (17th round, Colorado Rockies), Brandon Moore (17th round, Milwaukee Brewers), Jacob Morris (24th round, Chicago White Sox), Tyler Wright (26th round, Seattle Mariners), Randall Fant (29th round, Houston Astros), Eric Fisher (30th round, Miami Marlins) and Matt Vinson (37th round, Arizona Diamondbacks) were all selected during the draft.

MEN'S GOLF:

Sebastian Cappelen participated in his third Palmer Cup over the weekend at Wilmington Country Club in Wilmington, Del.  Playing for Team Europe, Cappelen was victorious in his foursome match on the final day of competition, but his team was defeated by the United States in the Ryder Cup-style tournament that invites the best collegiate players in the nation to participate.  The Palmer Cup kicks off what will be a busy summer for both current and former Razorbacks on the amateur and professional tours.

WOMEN'S GOLF:

Current Razorback freshman Gabriela Lopez earned a sponsor's exemption and will take part in the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship Monday qualifier at Pinnacle Country Club June 17 (June 17-23).  If Lopez wins the qualifier, she will earn a spot in the event beginning Thursday.  Former Razorback Stacy Lewis will compete in the tournament along with 18 of the top 20 women in the Rolex World Rankings.

MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD (No. 3):

Arkansas closed out the 2012-13 season with a third-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. The Razorbacks closed the meet with 46.5 points-just 6.5 out of first place-and capped their weekend with a national runner-up result in the 4x400-meter relay. The finish marked the program's highest NCAA outdoor showing under fifth-year head coach Chris Bucknam. Coupled with its finish at the outdoor meet, Arkansas ends its 2012-13 campaign with top-10 national finishes from all three aspects of the program (1st - indoor; 3rd - outdoor; 10th - cross country). The track and field season will continue with several athletes scheduled to compete for their respective countries at summer events, including the USA Championships contested June 19-23 in Des Moines, Iowa.

WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD (No. 8):

In its fifth top-10 national outdoor finish and first as a program since 2004, Arkansas turned in an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore. The Razorbacks tallied 30 points over the four-day competition, capping their season with the program's first-ever NCAA title in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Chrishuna Williams, Sparkle McKnight, Gwendolyn Flowers and Regina George won the national title in a school-record time of 3:27.09. Arkansas also had school-record marks from Makeba Alcide in the heptathlon (6,050 points) and Grace Heymsfield in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:57.18). The track and field season will continue with several athletes scheduled to compete for their respective countries at summer events, including the USA Championships contested June 19-23 in Des Moines, Iowa.
