2013: Clarisa Navarro started all 56 games for the Razorbacks last season at shortstop. She has eclipsed her 2012 RBI total of 30 with 39 last season. On March 27 vs. UMKC she homered twice and garnered four RBI. The La Hoya, Texas native had her biggest game of the season against No. 8 Missouri, in which she went 3-for-4 with a homerun, two runs scored and two RBI. When she is not sparking runs at the plate she can be seen making Top-10 plays in the field. Navarro sits in second place in the UA career record books with a .329 batting average, a .532 slugging percentage and a .394 on-base percentage.

2012: Navarro, a junior college transfer made one of the biggest impacts on the Arkansas softball team last season at the shortstop position. Navarro averaged .337 at the plate in her first season as a Razorback while leading the team in hits (62), total bases (107), and doubles (11). She is also one of two Razorbacks to hit in double-digits for home runs with 10. The sophomore is one of two Razorbacks to start all 57 games this season and has the second highest on-base percentage on the team of .396. At shortstop, she led the team in assists with 124 while also grabbing 88 putouts. She already put her name in the Arkansas record book, coming in at fifth in total bases in a single season, fifth in batting average, tenth in on-base percentage and tied for sixth in home runs. Navarro was honored by the NFCA being named to the All-Region second team.

BEFORE ARKANSAS: Clarisa Navarro was a standout infielder for Butler Community College and head coach Doug Chance in 2011, swinging to a .421 batting average and leading the team in hits (77) and doubles (22). She finished the season ranking third on the Grizzlies with 11 home runs and was second with 57 RBI. Navarro was fearsome on the base paths, stealing bases on 25 of 26 attempts to tie for the team lead. She also found success on the baseball diamond, making USA Baseball’s National Women’s Team in 2010. As a senior at La Joya High School in 2010, Navarro was a Texas Sports Writers Association Class 5A all-state honorable mention after batting .647 with nine home runs and 25 doubles. The district’s most valuable player, she was responsible for 43 RBI and stole 20 bases. She was also named the 2010 Valley Freedom Newspapers most valuable player. In her junior campaign, La Joya advanced to the Class 5A State Championship playoffs regional quarterfinal. As a sophomore in 2008, Navarro helped La Joya to the Class 5A state championship playoffs regional semifinal and was named her district’s newcomer of the year. Navarro played baseball as a freshman where she helped her team to a district title and a bi-district championship.
