FAYETTEVILLE -- The 7th-ranked University of Arkansas football team practiced inside Walker Pavilion Friday afternoon as it continued to prepare for its game against 11th-ranked Kansas State in the 76th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.

Defensive coordinator and secondary coach Paul Haynes commented that he was excited about getting out to the practice field for the first time as a coach for the Razorbacks.

"It was fun for me just getting ready and getting started," Coach Haynes said. "As a new coach, you just try to get a feel for what the pace of practice is, and I liked what I saw."

Coach Haynes also mentioned that he was glad the Razorback players could get back on the practice field after a tough stretch in the classroom.

"Some guys had finals all week," Coach Haynes said. "It was good to get them back out there running around, getting involved in football."

The 76th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 inside Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will be televised nationally on Fox.
