FAYETTEVILLE- The
University of Arkansas men’s tennis team wrapped up the UNC-Wilmington Landfall
Tournament with two solid wins from freshmen Santiago Munoz and Austin Robles. Munoz, who went 4-1
in singles play on the weekend, defeated Old Dominion’s Can Cetinel 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 in
the consolation finals. Robles defeated East
Carolina’s Ben Gregory 6-2, 4-6, 10-4 giving him the third place title in his flight. Robles
closed out his debut tournament with two singles victories as well as a doubles win. In the top flight of the
tournament redshirt freshman Christian Lee dropped his flinal match to Old Dominion’s
Albert Ochagavia 6-1,6-4. “I am very pleased with
the play by the freshmen this weekend,” head coach Robert Cox said. “They came out and
showed that they can compete and be succesful against some tough competitiion.” Arkansas will be back in
action next weekend at the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas. “This has been a great
start to our fall season,” Coach Cox said. “Now we have to continue this momentum into
next weeks’ tournament.” For results and more
