Below are season-long notes for the University of Arkansas swimming and diving team.

Arkansas Relay Team Scores Big Win

FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas swimming and diving team opened the dual meet season against Georgia with a bang, taking the first-place finish in the 200-medley relay to open the dual meet. The first-place time was also the fifth best time in school history, 1:42.29.

The Razorbacks took the lead from the get go, when redshirt sophomore Shana Lim swam the leadoff leg in the backstroke clocking the fastest leadoff time, 25.71. Next it was up to sophomore Nikki Daniels in the breaststroke.

Daniels maintained the Razorbacks’ lead with a 28.60 split to hand off to sophomore Susanna White in the butterfly. White swam a blistering 25.09 split and handed it off to freshman Nina Drolc to close the race.

At the time the Razorbacks were in the lead by just a tenth of a second, and Georgia’s relay team had Olympian Allison Schmitt as their closer. However, Drolc was able to hold off Schmitt and make it to the wall first with a 22.89 freestyle swim.

The relay time of 1:42.29 is also the fifth-best 200 medley relay time in the SEC this season.
