FAYETTEVILLE - University of Arkansas head football coach John L. Smith met with the media on Monday to discuss the team's 19-15 win over Tulsa last Saturday and to talk about this Saturday’s game against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Coach Smith spoke about the team’s effort in the win over Tulsa last weekend.
“It was a good win," Coach Smith said. "Anytime you get a win it’s a good win. There’s never such a thing as a bad win. It was good to have a win for Homecoming. I’m proud of our guys. They played hard and they battled."
Coach Smith also commented on the defense’s effort in the fourth quarter to help the Razorbacks clinch the victory.
"It was really good to see the defense put the game on their back and step up and win it so we can build on all of those things and we are going to have to build on those things," Coach Smith said.
Kickoff for the South Carolina game is set for 11:00 a.m., and will be televised on CBS.
