FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Go beyond the box score with notes and analysis from Arkansas’ 97-58 win over Jacksons State in the season opener Friday in Bud Walton Arena.

STARS OF THE GAME
Calli Berna scored a career best 22 points in the win over JSU.  She bettered her previous career high of 13 set in the opener against Minnesota last year.  Quistelle Williams also posted a career-best with 17 points bettering the 16 she had against Lamar in the WNIT Tournament two seasons ago.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME
Tied at 28 at the 6:02 mark of the first period, Arkansas went on a 6-1 run in just over a minute sprinting out to ta 34-29 lead and forcing a JSU timeout.  Arkansas would never be tied or trail again in the game.

STAT OF THE GAME
63.6 Percent – that is what Arkansas shot in the second half of the game.  The Razorbacks hit 21-33 shots in the final 20 minutes.

NOTES
* Arkansas is 37-1 in home openers and have won 28 consecutive since the 1983-84 season
* Head coach Tom Collen is 311-136 overall in all games in 15 seasons
* Collen is the reigning SEC Coach of the Year
* Collen is 94-66 in six seasons at Arkansas. He will be the third coach with 100 wins
* Collen has taken Arkansas to three postseason appearances (WNIT, 2009, 2011; NCAA Second Round, 2012)
* Senior Sarah Watkins (second-team) and sophomore Calli Berna (all-freshman team) were both All-SEC selections in 2012
* Arkansas is 202-76 in 19 seasons in Bud Walton Arena
* Sarah Watkins will be the 27th player in program history to score at least 1,000 career points. She entered the season opener with 964 career points in 97 games played and scored four points against JSU
* Sarah Watkins ranks 26 in career rebounds with 452 in 97 games (prior to Jackson State).  She had three against JSU
* Sarah Watkins ranks third in career blocked shots with 161 prior to Jackson State and added one against the Tigers for 162
*  Sarah Watkins could be the 17th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point, 500 rebound plateau
