Berna ninth, Razorbacks in top 10 in NCAA stats

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas sophomore Calli Berna ranks ninth in the nation in assist/turnover ratio and the Razorbacks are among the nation’s leaders in several statistical categories.

Berna, a Fayetteville, Ark., point guard, ranks ninth among 250 players with 2.76 assist/turnover ratio.  She also ranks 44th in the nation with 5.2 assists per game and 88th in the country with 2.78 steals per game this week.

Other individuals who also rank in the NCAA stats include senior Sarah Watkins who is 87th with an 83.9 free throw percentage and junior Keira Peak who is 96th with a 48.5 field goal percentage and 150th with 15.3 points per game.

As a team, the Razorbacks rank seventh in the nation in both turnovers per game and assist/turnover ratio.  The Razorbacks average just 12.3 apg and have a 1.3 assist/turnover ratio this week.

Arkansas ranks 10th in the country in turnover margin at 7.89 and are 15th in win-loss percentage at 88.9.  The other categories in which the Razorbacks are ranked include 25th for scoring offense with 74.8 ppg, 31st in scoring margin at +16.6 ppg, 34th in assists per game with 16.0 apg, 37th in three point field goal defense allowing just 24.0.

Arkansas’ scoring office ranks fourth in the SEC and the Razorbacks are fifth in scoring defense this week.  The Razorbacks rank fifth in the SEC in scoring margin, third in free throw percentage, fourth in three-pointers per game, third in won-loss percentage, first in fewest turnovers per game, second in assist/turnover ratio, fourth in turnover margin and lead the SEC in three-point field goal defense this week.

The Razorbacks return to competition Dec. 16 at Furman as the season continues.
