JUNIOR (2012-13): In her junior season Golbek stepped up to the plate at each championship meet, recording all of her season-best times at the Houston Cougar Invite and the SEC Championships. Golbek nabbed three season-best times in the prelims at the Houston Cougar Invite with a 24.61 in the 50-yard freestyle, a 52.63 in the 100 freestyle and a 2:06.28 in the 200 individual medley. Golbek advanced to the finals in the 200 backstroke at the Houston Cougar Invite and achieved 29th place with 2:03.17. At the SEC Championship, Golbek nabbed a career-best time in the 100 butterfly with a 55.96. In dual-meet season she posted eight top-five finishes to help the Razorbacks to their best record in school history. Golbek also proved to be a role model outside of the pool, as she was named a team captain for the following season.

SOPHOMORE (2011-12): Golbek showed considerable growth in her sophomore season, specializing in three strokes and earning eight top-five finishes. Golbek had her best all-around meet against Vanderbilt, placing third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:05.88, third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.76 and fourth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.54. She also stepped up in dual meets against top competition, placing third in the 50 freestyle against Auburn in 24.76 and fourth in the 100 freestyle in 53.16. Golbek earned two of her top times of the year at the Tennessee Invitational, clocking 2:06.29 in the 200 IM and 57.40 in the 100 backstroke. Golbek’s season-best time in the 200 back came at the SEC Championships, where she clocked 2:02.20. Her best time in the 50 freestyle came against Penn State and Navy, finishing in 24.50.

FRESHMAN (2010-11): Golbek wrapped up her freshman season by competing mainly in the backstroke events. She had her best finish in the 100 and 200 backstroke against Drury, placing third in each event. Golbek's best time in the 100 backstroke came at the Houston dual meet when she stopped the clock at 56.55 as the leadoff leg of the 400 medley relay. At the SEC Championships, Golbek earned a time of 2:00.90 in the 200 backstroke for a season-best time.  She placed first in the 200 individual medley against Vanderbilt and second against Houston with a time of 2:05.47. She collected her season-best time of 2:05.01 in the 200 IM at the SEC Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Golbek was a two-time high school All-American who took third place in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke events at the Indiana 5A State Championships as a junior. She was also a member of the 400 freestyle relay that broke the Indiana state record at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Noblesville, Ind. Hamilton Southeastern's 200 and 400 freestyle relays ranked among the top-10 in the nation in 2009.

PERSONAL: Golbek was born July 26, 1991 in Lafayette, Ind., to David and Melinda Hertzler. She has an older brother, Jeffery, and an older sister, Whitney. She was a member of the student council, the Academy of Finance and Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Hamilton Southeastern. She was a high school teammate of former Razorback Carly Mercer and current teammate Molly Milborn. Golbek is studying finance at Arkansas as a member of the Honors College.
