FRESHMAN (2012-13): Monroe made her mark in the freestyle events for the Razorbacks in her first season. Monroe competed in the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyle events and also in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Individually, Monroe tallied season-best times in all her freestyle events at the SEC Championships with a 23.36 in the 50 freestyle, 50.31 in the 100 freestyle and a 1:51.75 in the 200 freestyle. Monroe was also a part of the school-record 200 freestyle relay team that recorded a time of 1:30.23, in addition to two of the top-five times in school history over the course of the season. Monroe’s relay successes continued as she helped the Razorbacks take down the 400 freestyle relay record with a time of 3:18.47 in addition to swimming three of the top-five times in school history. 

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Monroe was a four-time Telegraph Swimmer of the Year. Monroe was a two-time sectional champion during her senior year at Alton High School. Throughout high school she was a sectional champion nine times. She also qualified for the YMCA National Championships four times.

PERSONAL: Monroe was born on Feb. 16, 1994, to Timothy and Sandra Monroe in Alton, Illinois. Monroe has one sister, Grace, and one brother, Matt. She is a mechanical engineering major with hopes to pursue a career in the engineering field one day.
