HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Aiden Lister swam for the Academy Swimming Club under coach Dick Orbell and accrued many honors in her time there, including breaking her school record in the 50 freestyle. In 2012, Lister participated in the National Age Swimming Championships in Brisbane, Australia, and the Energy Australia National Open Swimming Championships, which served as the Olympic selection trials. At the 2012 National Sport Swimming Championships, Lister placed second in the 200 freestyle, second in the 400 freestyle and second in the 800 freestyle. At the 2012 McDonald’s Queensland Long Course Championships, Lister won silver medals in the 400 and 800 freestyle races. At the 2012 Queensland State School Championships, Lister won gold medals in the 800 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 200 freestyle in addition to earning a bronze medal in the 100 freestyle. In 2011, Lister participated in the National Age Swimming Championships in Adelaide, Australia. She ranked fourth in the 400 freestyle at the 2011 National Sport Swimming Championships. At the 2011 McDonald’s Queensland Short Course Championships, Lister won gold medals in the 800 and 400 freestyles and earned a bronze medal in the 200 freestyle. At the 2011 Queensland State School Championships, Lister won the gold medal in the 400 freestyle and earned silver in the 200 freestyle. Lister was the 2012-13 Girls Open Champion and the 2012-13 Simon Trophy Champion Record Breaker. She was also named Outstanding Female Swimmer of the Year in 2011 and 2012. Lister has won numerous other awards in her swimming career.  She was also a member of the cross country team. 

PERSONAL: Aiden Marguerite Lister was born on Oct. 20, 1995 in Brisbane, Australia, and is the daughter of Phillip and Peta Lister. Lister has one older sister, Keely Anderson, and one brother, Colm. While attending Toowoomba State High School, Lister was a sports prefect, a student council member and a participant in musicals and community fundraisers. Lister chose Arkansas based on the location, the team spirit and the classes offered. She plans to major in anthropology and hopes to become a police force detective.
