FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas' 10th-ranked gymnastics team is home in Barnhill Arena for the NCAA South Central Regional on April 7, and the first 500 university students will be admitted free.
Arkansas is hosting the South Central Regional for the third time. This year's meet features No. 3 UCLA, the No. 10 Razorbacks, No. 15 Boise State, No. 19 Missouri, No. 29 New Hampshire and No. 34 Maryland.
The first 500 University of Arkansas students will be admitted free with a valid ID for the 4 p.m. competition in Barnhill Arena.
Tickets for the regional are $10 for adults. After the first 500 UA students are admitted, a $5 ticket is available for youth/students, everyone 18 and younger or with a valid UA student ID. A family plan is also available, including two adult and two youth tickets for $25.
Arkansas has hosted regionals in 2006 and 2009, placing second in '06 and winning the title in '09 to advance to the NCAA Championship each time.
Overall, the Razorbacks have earned a spot in a regional for the ninth straight year. Arkansas has advanced to the NCAA Championship five times, including the last four seasons. Last year, the Razorbacks won the NCAA North Central Regional in Denver and tied for ninth in the nation.
Arkansas has finished in the top 15 nationally seven consecutive seasons with three top 10 finishes - No. 10 in 2009, No. 5 in 2009 and tied for No. 9 in 2011.
The Razorbacks are led by senior All-American Jaime Pisani, the Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Year, senior Mariah Howdeshell, who is ranked No. 5 in the nation on bars, and junior All-American all-arounder Amy Borsellino.
