FAYETTEVILLE - Senior Jaime Pisani tied the school record with four All-America honors in a single year and added to her school-record total as four Arkansas gymnasts combined to earn eight All-America honors for the 2012 season.
Pisani, sophomore Katherine Grable, sophomore Bailee Zumwalde and freshman Stephani Canizaro were named All-Americans.
"I think it's really cool," co-head coach René Cook says. "We started on floor and the first two up in the rotation got second-team All-America (Zumwalde and Canizaro on floor) and then Jaime and Katherine finished the meet on beam and they were All-Americans."
Pisani, the Southeastern Conference Gymnast of the Year, entered her final campaign as the school's all-time leader with nine All-America selections, earning three each year. She topped that with a banner senior season, which included No. 1 national rankings on floor and in the all-around, by earning four All-America honors to end her career with 13.
Pisani earned first-team selections in the all-around, on floor and on beam, and second-team honors on bars. She ties Casey Jo Magee with four in one season. Magee was a first-teamer in the all-around, and on bars, beam and floor in 2010.
Pisani, from Ringwood, N.J., closed her career by leading the Razorbacks into the Super Six for the second time in program history, and the second time in her career (2009), and to a sixth-place finish in the nation. She also finished third in the nation in the all-around, ninth on floor and 12th on beam.
For her career, Pisani earned first-team honors on floor three times, and in the all-around, on beam and on vault once, and second-team honors in the all-around and on bars twice, and on vault, beam and floor once.
Grable, who was No. 1 in the nation in the all-around before missing three meets at the end of the season with an ankle injury, returned for the NCAA Fayetteville Regional and earned two All-America honors in helping the Razorbacks reach the NCAA finals. She also earned a spot in the event finals and finished sixth on beam.
Grable, from Oshkosh, Wis., earned first-team honors on beam and second-team honors on vault. As a freshman, she was a first-teamer on floor and a second-teamer on vault.
Zumwalde and Canizaro each earned their first All-America honor with each being selected second team on floor.
In its 10-year history, the Razorback program has had 10 individuals combine for 36 All-America honors. All of those have been since 2008 with 33 since 2009. The eight honors this year is the second-most in program history. The first Super Six squad (2009) had five individuals combine for 11 selections, including three by Pisani - second-team on vault, bars and floor.
