Pisani, Grable No. 1 in the nation

FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas senior All-American gymnast Jaime Pisani has maintained her No. 1 national ranking on floor while sophomore All-American Katherine Grable has moved into the nation's top spot in the all-around in this week's GymInfo national rankings, giving Arkansas two No. 1-ranked individuals for the second time this year.

Pisani is No. 1 in the country on floor for the fifth straight week with an average score of 9.930. Grable was No. 6 in the country in the all-around last week but has moved up to the top spot with an average score of 39.45.

Earlier this year, on Jan. 30 and Feb. 6, Pisani was No. 1 on floor while senior Mariah Howdeshell was No. 1 on bars.

Grable is also No. 3 on floor, No. 4 on vault, tied for No. 5 on beam and tied for No. 26 on bars.

Pisani is also No. 6 on bars and tied for No. 9 on vault.

Howdeshell is tied with Pisani at No. 6 at bars.

Junior Jordan Salsberg is No. 22 in the all-around and No. 25 on vault.

In the team rankings, Arkansas is No. 8 overall, No. 5 on vault, tied for No. 3 on bars, tied for No. 10 on beam and tied for No. 7 on floor.

In the South Central Region rankings, Arkansas is No. 3 overall, No. 3 on vault, No. 1 on bars, No. 2 on beam and No. 3 on floor.

Individually, Grable is No. 1 in the all-around, Pisani is No. 3 and Salsberg No. 8.

On vault, Grable is No. 2, Pisani tied for No. 3, Salsberg tied for No. 8, Kelci Lewis No. 15 and sophomore Scarlett Williams No. 20. On bars, Pisani and Howdeshell are tied for No. 3, Grable tied for No. 7, sophomore Shelby Salmon tied for No. 11 and Salsberg is No. 17. Grable is No. 2 on beam, Salsberg is tied for No. 13 and Williams is tied for No. 15. On floor, Pisani is No. 1, Grable No. 3, Lewis No. 21, and junior All-American Amy Borsellino and sophomore Bailee Zumwalde are tied for No. 22.

The Razorbacks close their regular-season home schedule this week by hosting No. 18 Minnesota on Friday at 7 p.m. in Barnhill Arena. Friday is also Senior Night for Pisani, Howdeshell and Genny Salvatore.

Barnhill is also the site of the NCAA South Central Regional on April 7 at 4 p.m. Tickets for the regional and for the SEC Championship on March 24 in Duluth, Ga., are now on sale.
