FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas football team concluded its week of full practices Thursday in preparation for Saturday's 6 p.m. Homecoming game against Vanderbilt in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The Razorbacks, ranked 19th in the AP poll, are 5-2 (2-2, SEC) in 2010, which is the best start under head coach Bobby Petrino and UA's best mark after seven games since 2006.

Coach Petrino will lead the Razorbacks out against Vanderbilt, which is 2-5 (1-3, SEC) this season. The Razorback leader, in his third season at the helm, was pleased with the team's drills this week.

"We've had good practices," Coach Petrino said. "I think our guys are focused. I don't see any signs that we're going to let down. I think we're very, very motivated to keep improving and go out and have a good game on Saturday."

The Arkansas team is excelling on both sides of the ball, ranking first in the Southeastern Conference in passing offense (352.1, 2nd in NCAA) and tackles for loss (7.86 per game, 9th in NCAA). Coach Petrino noted the UA squad looks poised to continue its success this weekend.

"I like what I've seen," Coach Petrino said. "The coaches have a good plan. It's time to get the game here and get going."

The Arkansas-Vanderbilt game will air on FSN. For more information on Razorback football, please visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
