FAYETTEVILLE- Just a week after snow covered the field at Baum Stadium, the Arkansas baseball team completed its first practice of the spring under sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60s on Friday afternoon.

"I thought it went well today," head coach Dave Van Horn said. "Obviously, the weather played a big part in us having the opportunity to be out here for three and a half hours and go out through a lot of situations, defensively and offensively. I think the kids handled it real well. We picked up where we left off in the fall. I'm looking forward to another good day tomorrow."

Several Razorbacks took advantage of the beautiful weather by participating in early batting practice before practice officially commenced at 2 p.m.

The practice opened with stretching and long toss, before the players broke into groups to work on position drills. After that, the pitchers and position players worked on defensive drills and communication between positions. The team then worked on situational hitting, before closing practice with batting practice and baserunning.

Arkansas will continue practice for the next three weeks leading up the regular season opener against Delaware State on Friday, February 18 at 3:05 p.m. Practices on Saturday and Sunday are scheduled to begin at approximately 11 a.m.
