FAYETTEVILLE – The 11th-ranked Arkansas baseball team steps out of conference on Tuesday as it travels to Norman, Okla., to face the Oklahoma Sooners. First pitch at L. Dale Mitchell Park is set for 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday’s game will be televised by CST with Mike Morgan and Troy Eklund on the call. The game will also be available on the Razorback Baseball Radio Network from IMG. Three-time Arkansas Sportscaster of the Year Chuck Barrett (play-by-play) will call the action.
Arkansas, which will be playing its first midweek game since March 21, is 24-7 on the season and 7-5 in Southeastern Conference play. Arkansas is coming off a series win against Georgia last weekend. The Razorbacks dropped the opener on Friday night, but bounced back by winning the next two games of the series. As a team, the Razorbacks hit .301 against the Bulldogs, while the pitching staff had a 1.33 ERA. Dominic Ficociello

went 4-for-10 in the series with a home run and five RBI. Jacob Mahan

leads Arkansas at the plate with a .356 batting average with three homers and a team-high 23 RBI. Reynolds has also stolen 10 bases on the season, which ranks second on the team. Carver is hitting .328 with 17 RBI and a team-leading 12 stolen bases. Ficociello is batting .327 with four homers and 21 RBI, while Jimmy Bosco
is hitting .301 with three homers and 21 RBI.
The Razorbacks are scheduled to start junior left hander Randall Fant
on Tuesday night against the Sooners. Fant enters the game with a 1-1 record and a 5.49 ERA in five starts this season. Fant will be making his first appearance on the mound since he pitched in the series finale at Mississippi State on March 25.
The Arkansas bullpen has compiled a 9-4 record with 10 saves and a 2.35 ERA. Brandon Moore
has appeared in 11 games, nine in relief, and has a 3-0 record with two saves and a 0.87 ERA, which ranks second in the SEC. Colby Suggs has pitched in a team-high 15 games and is 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA. In 13 appearances this season, Cade Lynch
has a 0-1 record with two saves and a 2.22 ERA. Nolan Sanburn
has appeared in 10 games, nine out of the bullpen, and is 2-1 with a 3.06 ERA.
Oklahoma enters Tuesday’s game with an 18-14 overall record and a 4-8 mark in Big 12 play. The Sooners have posted a 10-5 record at home this season. OU dropped all three games of its series at Texas A&M last weekend. Before last weekend, the Sooners had won five of their last six games. As a team, Oklahoma is hitting .271, while the pitching staff has a 4.48 team ERA.
Erik Ross leads the Sooners at the plate with a .337 batting average with 10 RBI and a team-high 11 stolen bases. Jack Mayfield and Max White are each hitting .317. Mayfield has three homers and 18 RBI, while White has driven in 24 runs. Hunter Lockwood leads Oklahoma with eight homers and 28 RBI and is hitting .279.
Junior right hander Damien Magnifico will get the start on the mound for the Sooners on Tuesday. Magnifico has appeared in 13 games, with one start, this season and has a 0-0 record with two saves and a 4.76 ERA.
Steven Okert has pitched in 12 games this season, seven out of the bullpen, and has a 4-4 record with a 4.20 ERA. Kindle Ladd has appeared in 10 games in relief and is 0-1 with a save and a 5.50 ERA. Steven Bruce has a 1-0 record with a 6.57 ERA in eight appearances this season.
Arkansas and Oklahoma have met 24 times previously with the Razorbacks holding a 14-10 edge. The Sooners hold a slight 8-7 lead in games played in Norman. The two teams were scheduled to play in 2011, but the game was canceled due to inclement weather. Arkansas has won five of the last six meetings in the series.
