FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore Sebastian Cappelen of the No. 10 University of Arkansas men’s golf team was named SEC Co-Golfer of the Week on Wednesday it was announced by the league office in Birmingham, Ala.

Cappelen was one of three Razorbacks to tie for third and propel Arkansas to its school record seventh win of the year on Tuesday at The Woodlands All-American Intercollegiate on Tuesday.  The Odense, Denmark, native tied an All-American record when he shot 65 in the second round and became the first player since the early 90s to tie the mark.

“Sebastian had a great tournament,” Arkansas Head Coach Brad McMakin said.  “This is an honor that is well deserved.  Sebastian has been playing his best golf of late and it came as no surprise to me that he would be able to put together such a good tournament.”

Since winning his second collegiate tournament at the Cabo Collegiate to end the fall season, Cappelen has finished no worse than 15th overall in four stroke play matches.  He also went 4-0 in his matches at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship.

Currently, Cappelen’s career stroke average of 71.98 over 22 career tournaments is the best in school history, edging former Razorback Craig Lile’s four-year average of 72.55 which he achieved between 1998-01.

The Razorbacks are back on the course April 20-22 at the Southeastern Conference Championships at St. Simons Island, Ga.
