FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas junior-to-be Emily Tubert
shot up the leaderboard into a tie for 12th place after two rounds of stroke play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship in Neshanic Station, N.J., Tuesday.
The Burbank Calif., native fired a second-round two-under 70 and is in the clubhouse with a143 (73-70). She moves on to match play Wednesday after two rounds of stroke play.
Tubert and two other collegians are fresh off their overseas adventure representing Team USA at The Curtis Cup in Scotland last week.
Tubert battled fatigue to climb several spots before match play begins.
, a Fayetteville, Ark., native, is taking part in the Women’s Western Amateur Championship in Monroe, Mich. After a first round 74, Lavy posted a 77 in the second round for 151. She is tied for 21st overall and moves on to match play Wednesday.
