FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas baseball head coach
Dave Van Horn met with the media on Tuesday morning and recapped the Razorbacks’ fall practice season.
Coach Van Horn discussed the team’s progress throughout the fall season, which recently concluded.
“I think it was a very productive fall,” Coach Van Horn said. “We had some quality young players that came in and showed that they’re going to be able to contribute right away. Obviously, we feel real good about our returning position players and pitchers.”
Coach Van Horn also talked about what he wants the team’s identity to be for the upcoming season.
“I don’t want the team to be complacent and think we’re just going to beat you with pitching,” Coach Van Horn said. “We need to beat you with everything. We need to play good defense, work hard and continue to manufacture runs and hit line drives. We need to be a force one through nine at the plate and that’s what we’re working on.”
The Razorbacks open the 2013 season on Friday, Feb. 15, as they host Western Illinois. First pitch at Baum Stadium is set for 3:05 p.m.
