FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas women's tennis team continued their commitment to community service on Sunday, attending the dedication ceremony for a house the team had helped build through Habitat for Humanity. The team had worked on the project earlier in the semester, helping to construct a home for a needy member of the community.
"Habitat for Humanity is one of our favorite programs," senior
Claudine Paulson said. "Our team takes pride in contributing to such a worthwhile cause."
The new homeowner attended the dedication and met with the team. She was thrilled to be able to move into her house before the holidays. The project gave the team the opportunity to give back to the local community, and the rewards of that experience were on display during the dedication.
"It was a special feeling to see the community spirit that went in to building such a beautiful house," head coach
Michael Hegarty said. "Many people gave selflessly to achieving this goal and I know our team was thrilled to be a part of it."
