FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 25 University of Arkansas swimming and diving team heads south to Mayagüez, Puerto Rico for a winter training trip during the holiday break. The Razorbacks (3-1, 2-1 SEC) will work to refine their skills and get into shape as they approach the spring season including the SEC and NCAA Championships.
While in Puerto Rico the team will square off against the University of Chicago. The team will be in Puerto Rico from Dec. 16-23.
“We will do some great training there along with our competition, but it’s really about team bonding,” Schimmel said. “It’s really about getting out of our comfort zone and getting into a new environment and challenging these women to really come together as a team in a way that they haven’t done so yet.”
Fans can follow the training trip on ArkansasRazorbacks.com and on Twitter.
The Razorbacks will return to the pool on Jan. 12 in the Arkansas Natatorium as they take on Penn State and Missouri State in a double dual meet on Senior Day.
