Arkansas won its fourth straight game on Saturday, defeating Northwestern State, 79-61 ... the Razorbacks held Northwestern State (No. 2 in the country in scoring offense) to 27 points under their season average and to just 27.4 percent from the field ... sophomore BJ Young scored a game high 26 points and had the second double-double of his career with 13 rebounds, Young also added seven assists and two steals ... sophomore Hunter Mickelson grabbed a career high 13 rebounds with four blocks and a steal ... junior Mardracus Wade scored a season high 17 points with a career high six assists and four steals ... junior Marshawn Powell passed two players on Arkansas’ all-time scoring charts with his nine points in the game and now ranks No. 33 in school history with 1,010 points ... with the Razorbacks’ win against Northwestern State, Arkansas improved to 24-4 (.857) at Bud Walton Arena with Mike Anderson as head coach, the best percentage by an Arkansas head coach since Eddie Sutton in the early 80s ... the Razorbacks were dominant on the boards against Northwestern State grabbing 57 rebounds, it was the most rebounds in a game by an Arkansas team since Feb. 16, 2011 when the Hogs grabbed 50 against Florida A&M ... Arkansas also held Northwestern State to just 1-of-14 shooting from three (7.1) ... for the season Arkansas has forced teams into 212 turnovers (17.7 per game) and turned those into 271 points (22.6 per game) ... Arkansas returns to the court on Saturday, Jan. 5, when it faces Delaware State at Bud Walton Arena.
