FAYETTEVILLE – Postseason honors continued this week for the University of Arkansas volleyball team as senior Jasmine Norton was named to COBRA Magazine All-National Third Team. This marks the second honor of the season for Norton who was also selected to the publication’s all-preseason release. She was also a COBRA all-national performer last season.

In addition to her latest postseason honor, Norton was also named to the All-Southeastern Conference First Team and AVCA All-South Region First Team, and garnered AVCA All-America Honorable Mention accolades. She is the first player in Arkansas program history to earn two All-America honors during her career and second-ever Razorback to receive four career All-SEC honors.

During the year, she registered 3.65 kills per set and 3.04 digs per set. Norton led Arkansas with 16 double-doubles in 2012 and had at least 10 kills in 14 of the last 15 matches of the season. She also earned 2012 all-tournament honors at the Arkansas Invitational and adidas/Michigan Challenge. Norton began the year with her third career All-SEC Preseason honors.

The Rowlett, Texas, native finishes her Razorback career as the second-most prolific attacker in program history and No. 8 on the SEC’s all-time list with 1,799 career kills. Earlier in the year, Norton became just the sixth player in program history with 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.

The COBRA publication is dedicated to celebrating the success of volleyball players of African, Samoan and Tongan descent in hopes of encouraging those ethnic groups across the country to pursue the sport.
