FAYETTEVILLE - The No. 55 University of Arkansas Razorback men's tennis team will open its 2013 home season Wednesday at 3 p.m. against No. 75 UAB inside the Dills Indoor Tennis Facility.

"We are really excited to open our home season," head coach Robert Cox said. "Our fans bring us such a great environment to play in, and it really helps get the guys pumped up."

The Razorbacks are 3-1 after a 1-1 weekend in the ITA Kickoff Regional in Charlottesville, Va. Arkansas defeated No.62 Georgia State 4-2 before falling to No.1 Virginia 6-1. Junior Mike Nott was undefeated in singles play with a straight-sets win over Georgia State and an intense, come-from-behind three-set victory against Virginia.

"We learned a lot as a team from the ITA Kickoff weekend," Coach Cox said. "We played some good tennis, but we have to get better and that starts with our match against UAB."

UAB is coming into this match with a 2013 record of 2-1 with victories over Florida A&M 4-2 and Florida Gulf Coast 5-2 and a 7-0 loss to No. 33 Florida State.

"UAB is a solid team," Coach Cox said. "We have to come out strong and play some quality tennis tomorrow if we want to come out with a victory. It is going to be a battle."

Fans that attend the UAB match will receive free pizza between doubles and singles play, while supply lasts. There will be live stats and a full recap available on Arkansas Razorbacks.com.
