AUBURN, Al. – Junior Shelby Salmon took the bars title outright while All-American Katherine Grable tied for the vault and beam titles, as the No. 19 University of Arkansas gymnastics team (1-4, 0-3 SEC) was outscored by the No. 15 Auburn Tigers (2-6, 2-3 SEC)  196.325-195.650.

“We had a couple of excellent rotations tonight,” co-head coach Mark Cook said. “Our bars and vault rotations were very good tonight. We executed really well and Heather Elswick had one of her best vaults I have seen”

On the bars, Salmon lead the way with a season high score of 9.90 to lead the Razorbacks to a 49.050 for the event and claim the bars title for the meet. Amy Borsellino, Erin Freier and Grable would each add a 9.80 for the event as well.

Auburn would post a 49.300 to take the lead after rotation one on the vault, led by freshman Caitlin Atkinson.

In the second rotation, the Razorbacks would score a 49.200 with a pair of 9.90 plus score from Grable with a 9.925 to tie for the event title and Elswick with a 9.90 which is good for a career high. Seniors Kelci Lewis and Borsellino each added a 9.825 to the score as well.

Auburn would score a 49.050 on the bars led by sophomore Megan Walker with a 9.825.

On the floor, Arkansas posted a 48.975 led by Borsellino and Lewis with a 9.875 each. Freshman Sydnie Dillard and Bailee Zumwalde added a 9.725 as well.

Auburn would score a 49.075 on the beam to tie the score a 147.225 after three rotations and set the stage for the final rotation.

On the beam, Arkansas posted a 48.425 behind a 9.875 from Grable. Dillard also added a 9.825 followed by freshman Keara Glover with a 9.775 and Salmon with a 9.75.

Auburn would post a 49.100 on the floor to take the meet 196.325-195.650

“We had a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes tonight,” Cook said. “We were in a good position after our first three events, even after a couple of mistakes on the floor. Kelci Lewis had an excellent routine on the floor. We will learn from this meet and continue to build our momentum for the rest of the season.”

The Razorbacks will return to competition next Friday, Feb. 15 at LSU.
