DULUTH, GA. – The University of Arkansas women’s basketball team took time out from their preparations for the SEC Tournament on Wednesday to participate in a community service project with local children. The Razorbacks participated in “Time Out In the Community” with the Rainbow Village program, which helps homeless families and their children.
The team spent the afternoon with elementary school age children, meeting the kids and giving them advice. After introducing the team and Calling the Hogs, the players took time to get to know the kids by playing games.
“It was really fun,” freshman
Melissa Wolff said. “It was good to just play games and hang out with the kids. It was a really awesome opportunity, and it just took our minds off the stress of our games, and we get closer too, so it’s great.”
Arkansas is 18-11, and 6-10 in the SEC. They are the eighth seed in the SEC Tournament, and will face ninth seeded Florida tomorrow at 11 a.m. (CST). The winner of that game moves on to face top-seeded Tennessee.
