The University of Arkansas basketball team concludes the 2012-13 regular season on Saturday afternoon, March 9, when it hosts the Texas A&M Aggies at Bud Walton Arena.

The first 1,000 students to enter the game will receive a pair of Razorback sunglasses courtesty of Pepsi.

Arkansas (18-12, 9-8 SEC) is looking to put together its first undefeated home conference season since 1998 when it takes on the Aggies.  The Razorbacks have already matched their best Southeastern Conference home record at 8-0 and with a victory would improve to 17-1 at “The Basketball Palace of Mid-America.”  The 17th win would equal last season’s school record for home wins and the nine home conference wins would also be a school record.

The Razorbacks are also playing for their seed at the conference tournament and at this point could be anywhere from No. 6 to No. 9 depending on the outcome of Saturday’s games.  A Razorback win likely puts them at No. 6 or No. 7, but a loss could drop the Razorbacks to No. 8 or No. 9.  There are still four games on the schedule that could contribute to the Razorbacks’ seed at the event.

Texas A&M (17-13, 7-10 SEC) is coming off a loss at home to LSU and needs a win to stay out of the first round of SEC Tournament games on Wednesday.  The Aggies are led by senior Elston Turner who has the top two scoring performances in the SEC this season and Kourtney Roberson who had a double-double in the first meeting between the schools.

Saturday’s game is a rematch of both team’s 2013 SEC opener in College Station, Texas, which Texas A&M won 69-51. The Aggies used balanced scoring and rebounding to take down the Razorbacks in the first meeting, but foul trouble plagued Arkansas contributing to the loss.

Arkansas leads the all-time series with Texas A&M, 95-52, and while the two teams have never met inside Bud Walton Arena, the Razorbacks do hold a 52-14 lead in Fayetteville going back to the days of Barnhill Arena and other venues.

The Razorback game against Texas A&M will be broadcast on the radio across the Razorback Sports Network from IMG College with Chuck Barrett and Rick Schaeffer giving the call.  The game will also be carried live on ESPNU with Tom Hart and Matt Doherty on air.
