GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Arkansas softball team will conclude an eight-game road trip at No. 3 Florida this weekend. Game one is slated for Friday, March 22 at 5 p.m. CT.

Arkansas (21-10) picked up two wins on Tuesday and Wednesday over Savannah State, outscoring the Lady Tigers 24-1 in the process. The Razorbacks now turn their attention back to SEC play. They are 0-3 this season in conference contests after being swept by Texas A&M last weekend.

The Razorbacks were led at Savannah State in game one by sophomore Kimmy Beasley. The Foreman, Ark. native pitched a no-hitter, in six innings, on Tuesday. This was the first solo no-hitter for the Hogs since March 5, 2006. She allowed only one walk and struck out seven in the 10-0 win for the Razorbacks. Beasley now has 69 strikeouts in 47 innings pitched this season.

Not to be outdone, Chelsea Cohen pitched a wonderful game two. She went five innings and gave up one run on three hits. She struck out nine to give her an even 100 in 2013.

At the plate this season the Hogs have been led by sophomore Devon Wallace. She ranks third in the SEC with a .471 batting average. The Double Oak, Texas native also leads the SEC with 41 walks and a .681 on base percentage. Arkansas has six players hitting over .300 this season.

Arkansas now heads into Florida to face the Gators. Games one and two will be Friday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively. Game three will be Saturday at 2 p.m. CT. You can listen to all three games of the series on 88.3 FM in Fayetteville. You can watch game three live on Fox Sports Florida.

The Blue and Orange are ranked third in the country and have compiled a 28-3 record. Florida is 4-2 so far in SEC play this season. The Gators are led at the plate by Kelsey Stewart, who is hitting .400 in her 31 starts this year. The freshman from Wichita, Kan. is second in the SEC with 42 hits. In the circle it is a junior, Hannah Rogers, that paces the team. She is 15-2 this year and has notched a 1.28 ERA. The Brea, Calif. native has 103 strikeouts in her 109.1 innings pitched.

After the Florida series the Hogs return home for ten games beginning with a single game on Wed. March 27 versus UMKC. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.
