The 10th-ranked Arkansas baseball team went 2-3 on the week, splitting a midweek doubleheader against New Mexico and dropping two of three games to No. 2 LSU. After dropping the first game to the Tigers, the Razorbacks snapped LSU’s 15-game winning streak with an 8-3 win in game two. The two top 10 teams played a thrilling series finale on Sunday with the Tigers claiming a 5-3 win in 10 innings. The Razorbacks are now 25-12 on the season and 9-6 at the midway point of the SEC season. Arkansas is in second in the SEC West, four games behind division leader LSU.
Arkansas hit .238 on the week and were led at the plate by Tyler Spoon
, who hit .450 (9-for-20) with three RBI and a stolen base. Dominic Ficociello
batted .429 (6-for-14) with four runs scored and a stolen base, while Jacob Mahan
went 5-for-13 with three RBI and a run scored. Jordan Farris
hit .333 (4-for-12) with a homer, two RBI and a stolen base.
The Razorback pitching staff compiled a 2.54 team ERA on the week. Ryne Stanek
turned in a dominating performance in game two of the series vs. LSU, working 6.2 shutout innings with five strikeout innings to earn his fourth win of the season. Brandon Moore

Arkansas hits the road for a pair of midweek games at Nebraska on Tuesday and Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. on Tuesday, while Wednesday’s game will start at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday’s game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. Next weekend, the Razorbacks return home to face Texas A&M. Game times for the weekend series are 6:35 p.m. on Friday, 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
