FAYETTEVILLE – The coaching staff of the No. 4 University of Arkansas men’s track and field team will host its final luncheon of the year Wednesday. Held at Jose’s Mexican Restaurant on Dickson Street at 11:30 a.m., the lunch is open to all fans, local track officials and media. This will mark the fourth and final lunch meeting of the season.

The cost of the lunch buffet is $9 and is payable by cash or check at the door. Head coach Chris Bucknam is set to be joined by assistant coaches Doug Case and Travis Geopfert. Jose’s is located at 324 W. Dickson Street in Fayetteville.

With the cancellation of Friday’s Arkansas Twilight, the Razorbacks have wrapped their regular season and now turn to the championship season. The SEC Outdoor Championships are up next for Arkansas and will be held May 9-12 in Columbia, Mo. The Razorbacks are the two-time defending SEC outdoor champions and have won three outdoor conference crowns under Bucknam.

Arkansas is ranked No. 4 in this week’s U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll. The Razorbacks are one of seven SEC teams ranked this week, all of which are positioned inside the top 20. Along with Arkansas, the top-25 poll includes top-ranked Florida, No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 6 Georgia, No. 12 LSU, No. 15 Ole Miss and No. 17 Alabama.

In event rankings, the Razorbacks have three SEC-leading performances from Kemoy Campbell at 1,500 and 5,000 meters and Solomon Haile at 10,000 meters. Arkansas also owns 10 marks ranked top 10 on this season’s NCAA performance list.

Following the SEC Championships, the collegiate season winds down with the NCAA West Preliminary (May 23-25) in Austin, Texas and NCAA Outdoor Championships (June 5-8) in Eugene, Ore. The top 48 individuals and top 24 relays will qualify for each Preliminary meet; the East Preliminary will take place the same weekend in Greensboro, N.C. The top 12 from each prelim will advance to the national meet.
