Urbana, Ill. - The University of Arkansas men's doubles team of Manfred Jeske and Mike Nott defeated the No. 21 Virginia team of Alex Domjian and Mitchell Frank 6-2, 6-2 in the first round of the NCAA Doubles Tournament on Thursday afternoon at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex.

"I am so proud of these guys," Head Coach Robert Cox said. "They were dominant out there today and are really playing their best tennis at the right time."

The duo ranked 24th in the country got off to a strong start breaking Virginia its first two times with serve and taking an early 4-0 lead.  The Cavilers tried to get back into the game bringing the first set to a score of 5-2, but could not break the Razorbacks. Jeske and Nott took the first set 6-2.

Second set play added intensity and competition with both teams refusing to break until Jeske and Nott collected their third break point of the match after long rallies, giving the Razorbacks the 2-1 lead.

The juniors continued dominance on the doubles court breaking the Cavilers for the fourth time in the match to take a 5-2 lead and allowing Jeske to serve for the win.  Arkansas blanked the Cavaliers in the final game and went on to take the match 6-2, 6-2.

The victory over Virginia gives Jeske and Nott 11 wins on the season including five top-25 victories.

"If we come out tomorrow like we did today we can take on anyone in the country," Coach Cox said.

Jeske and Nott advance to the round of sixteen and will play the winner of the Jonas Lutjen and Nik Scholtz from Ole Miss verses Isade Juneau and Sam Montette of Indiana. The match is schedule for tomorrow, but a time has yet to be set.
