INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –  University of Arkansas sophomore All-American Nikki Daniels touched the wall with a time of 1:12.74 in the 100-meter breaststroke for a 30th-place finish at the 2013 Phillips 66 National Championship in Indianapolis, Ind.

Daniels was in the thick of things for the first 50 meters, but trailed off in the second 50. She entered the race as the 36th seed but made up some ground for her 30th-place finish.  Daniels is fresh off her All-American campaign where she notched a fourth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke at the NCAA Championship.

Also competing at the World Championship Trials, is sophomore Lauren Jordan. Jordan tacked three races onto her schedule for the week, finishing up her second race, the 200-meter backstroke, on Wednesday. Jordan will return to the pool in the 1500-meter freestyle on Saturday for her final race. The 1500-meter freestyle will kick off at 2:48 CT on Saturday. Jordan earned All-America honors in the 1650-yard freestyle at the NCAA Championship with a ninth-place finish.

Jordan is looking to earn a spot on the World Championship team, which will be announced at the close of competition on Saturday. The 15th FINA World Championships will take place in Barcelona, Spain, July 19-August 4, 2013. In order to qualify for the USA team for the 2013 FINA World Championships, swimmers must be one of the top two finishers in each of the Olympic events other than the 100-meter and 200-meter freestyle.
