SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. -- University of Arkansas senior Emily Tubert shot a second round 78 and finished with a 152 at the 2013 U.S. Women's Open in Southampton, N.Y.
Tubert shot 74-78 for 152 and did not make the cut after tying for 81st after teh first two rounds.
Former Razorback Stacy Lewis shot 71-76 for 147 and a tie for 32nd after two rounds. Lewis made the cut and continues play today.
Lewis is one of four nominees for an ESPY as the Best Female Golfer.
She is currently ranked No. 2 in the Rolex Player Rankings and is taking part in the 2013 U.S. Women’s Open this week. As a professional, Lewis was the 2012 LPGA Player of the Year and has one victory this season at the HSBC Women’s Champions event.
While at Arkansas, Lewis won a school record 12 collegiate events. She was the 2005 SEC Freshman of the Year, the 2007 NCAA Division I National Champion and the 2008 SEC Championship Individual Medalist and Player of the Year.
Away from collegiate competition, she won the 2006 Harder Hall Invitational, the 2006 Western Amateur and was a semi-finalist at the 2006 U.S. Women’s Amateur. She was the 2007 Southern Amateur Champion and the 2007 Dinah Shore Trophy Award recipient. Lewis was also a member of the victorious U.S. Team at the 2007 at Copa de las Americas and on the victorious 2008 U.S. Curtis Cup team, becoming the first player to go 5-0 in Curtis Cup history. Lewis is a two-time Golfweek and Golf Digest Women’s Amateur Player of the Year (2006-07) and was the top ranked amateur in the Golfweek/Titleist Women’s Amateur Rankings in 2008.
She is nominated along with Inbee Park who led the LPGA in money in 2012, Jiyai Shin and Na Yeon Choi, winner of the 2012 Women’s U.S. Open.
