FAYETTEVILLE – Former Razorback and current Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee has been selected to play for the National League All-Star Team in the 2013 MLB All-Star Game at Citi Field on Tuesday, July 16 at 6:30 p.m. The game will be nationally televised on FOX.

Lee will be making his fourth appearance in an MLB All-Star Game. The 2008 AL Cy Young Award winner also played in the all-star game in 2008, 2010 and 2011.

A native of Benton, Ark., Lee has been the top performer in the Phillies’ starting rotation so far in 2013. The left hander leads the team with 10 wins and has a 10-2 record with a 2.73 ERA in 18 starts. Lee has struck out 119 batters in 131.2 innings pitched and has held opponents to a .222 batting average. Lee is one of just nine players in the big leagues and one of only four in the national league to have at least 10 victories on the season.

Now in his 12th season in the majors, Lee has a career record of 135-80 with a 3.53 ERA in 302 games pitched, including 298 career starts. Lee has pitched nearly 2,000 innings in his big league career, throwing 1984.1 innings and striking out 1,649 batters.
