The University of Arkansas men’s basketball team’s Saturday, Dec. 7th showdown with ACC foe Clemson at Bud Walton Arena will be shown live on Comcast Sports South (CSS). Tip is slated for 1 p.m.
The game was picked up as part of the SEC television package, which also includes all 18 of the Razorbacks’ regular season SEC contests. Including the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational, Arkansas currently has 22 of its 31 regular season slated to be on TV.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Bud Walton Arena (BWA) in 2013-14, the Razorbacks have hosted just one ACC team in BWA since it opened. Wake Forest visited in 1999-2000 in the backend of a home-and-home and again in 2001-02, as part of the Preseason NIT.
The Dec. 7th meeting will be just the second between the two programs and the first since the 1961-62 season when the Razorbacks edged out the Tigers, 62-60, on Dec. 29, in Greenville, S.C., at the Poinsetta Classic. It will also be Arkansas’ first meeting with an ACC program since taking on North Carolina in the second round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament in Raleigh, N.C.
Arkansas finished 20th nationally and third in the SEC in home attendance at 13,750 fans per game in 2012-13, going 17-1 at BWA while moving to 34-4 at home under head coach Mike Anderson. The 17-1 home record included a 9-0 league mark, which was the third unbeaten SEC home season in program history, but Arkansas' first since 1998. It marked the 20th straight year at Bud Walton Arena that the Razorbacks have ranked in the top 30 in attendance, including the 12th time in the top 20.
