FAYETTEVILLE – White scored four runs over the final three innings to overcome a 2-0 deficit and defeat Red 4-2 in game three of the Red-White series on Sunday afternoon at Baum Stadium.
White takes a 2-1 series lead with the victory and will look to clinch the first best-of-five series on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. Junior RHP Jacob Stone is scheduled to start for Red, while redshirt sophomore LHP Landon Simpson
will make the start for White.
Lance Phillips earned the win in relief for White, striking out two and giving up just one hit in three innings. Colin Poche was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs. Jalen Beeks
picked up his second save of the Red-White series with a scoreless ninth inning.
Alex Phillips started for Red and turned in an impressive outing, throwing six shutout innings and allowing just one hit. James Teague started for White and gave up two runs on four hits with three strikeouts in four innings.
had two hits and scored a run to lead the White team offensively. Bobby Wernes added a pair of RBI, while Clark Eagan and Dominic Taccolini each had a RBI. Jake Wise

The Red team jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a run in both the second and third inning. Terry Tatum
scored in second on a balk, while the run in the third inning came on a passed ball with Benintendi crossing the plate.
White took its first lead of the game with three runs in the seventh. A bases loaded walk to Eagan brought in the first run and back-to-back RBI groundouts by Taccolini and Wernes brought in the second and third runs of the inning.
White added an insurance run in the ninth on an infield RBI single by Wernes with Eagan scoring all the way from second on the play.
Red was able to get the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth, but Beeks struck out Tatum to end the game and give White a 2-1 series lead.
