FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Kimberley - Ann Surin picked up a pair of wins on the day and advanced to her flight final, as the University of Arkansas women's tennis team continued its dual-event weekend at the Colorado Invitational on Saturday.

Competing in quarterfinals action, Surin earned a win over a notable opponent in Dasha Sharapova of SMU, 6-3, 6-2. The freshman phenom from SMU is the cousin of World No. 3 professional women's tennis star, Maria Sharapova.

With the win, Surin advanced to the semifinals, where she continued her impressive day and followed up with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Colorado's Dhany Quevedo to seal her advancement to the flight finals.

"Today we saw some high quality play out here," head coach Michael Hegarty said of the Colorado Invitational. "Most encouragingly, I thought our adjustments were excellent given the tough conditions."

Going 2-0 on Saturday, Surin advanced to the Flight A final, which is set to be played 10 a.m. Sunday.

Flavia Araujo also competed in Boulder, Colo., as part of the B Flight, beginning her day with a loss to Charlotte Derbyshire of Denver, 6-3, 6-4. The sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, bounced back later in the day with a win over Denver's Natalie Dunn, 6-2, 6-1.

Splitting the day in singles play, Araujo advanced to consolation play Sunday at 10 a.m.

In Pacific Palisades, Calif., Yang Pang and Sarah McLean competed at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. The two Razorbacks teamed up for doubles play, but fell to Ines Deheza and Rutuja Bhosale of Texas A&M, 8-7 (7-4).

McLean also took part in singles play, falling to Baylor's Victoria Kisialeva, 6-1, 6-4.
